I guess this is kinda'sorta' a character design... back almost 10 years ago (jeeeeeeez) I was working with Jim Krueger on a project that was awesome and whimsical as all hell!!!
... needless to say, I was really stoked to be working on it.... ALAS 'twas not to be, the project got cancelled at Wildstorm (where I was 'exclusive') and the project eventually came out through Image with the title 'the Clockmaker'.

I did a ton of sketches and concepts for the series, and I am still pretty happy with this one... the original was a doodle with markers and some inkwash, later I dusted it and added some quick photoshop magic! :)

Hah, I think I still have a copy of Clockmaker lying around. It was a great comic - I loved your work back then and it's great to see how much you've continued to grow.

super cute

anychance you could follow it up with a goldblum looking in the mirror ... just to see who gets the joke :)

the design is so close to a ''noxine'', a mechanical fly/bug used by a time/chrono-mage in Wakfu (the anime).
but knowing Ankama and their habit to great inspire (steal) their work from other people, you may be the inspiration.
or it is a single coincidence, it happens.

heheh, who knows! how ild is the anime? this design is about (gasp) eleven or twelve years old.... damn, now I feel reeeeeeeeally old! :(

the anime itself is 2-3 years old now.
just a reference of the ''close material'' in question. >>> [link] <<<

This design kind of the artwork reminds of chris bachalo when he pencilled for "Steampunk." great design by the way.

heheheh... the first and most important thing about drawing, painting, sculpting etc... be very very veeeeeeeery patient! :) all comes from a TON of practice, and practice only comes with time..heheh, I know, it sucks, BUT it's all worth it!!!
