I think this was the second concept I did for Arkham Asylum. This is one of the few concepts that went from initial sketch to finished version almost identical, you get lucky that way sometimes
 .Basically, I wanted to do a very scary crackhead for Scarecrow ... also, the justification for changing some of the designs was the idea that most of their 'new' outfits would have been made with their prison suits and gear, that's why Bane, Killer Croc and Scarecrow are all still essentially wearing the orange jumpsuit. |

When I close my eyes I like to think that the muted colours of my life will be brighter when I open them...
I have certain small curiosities about the character designs, and it's awesome that I can actually get to try asking it to the artist himself. So, about Scarecrow: I see the syringes on his hand remind of Freddy Krueger from the popular horror movies; while the mask on his face reminds a bit of Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear. Given who the character is, and what he actually does in the videogame (giving "nightmares", and thwarting with the victim's mind, and then being slightly fourth-wall breaking, just like Mantis).... I was wondering if that was done on purpose, as a reference?
