Another work in progress... being a pretty GINORMOUS fan of the original Evangelion, I'm surprised I had actually never drawn any of em! (is the reboot any good?)... I had originally drawn her face VERY much in the animation's style, but at that point, it felt a bit like Karaoke, so I chose to do my own thing with it (but still somewhat keeping with the anime's proportions)!

Awesome interpretation, would love to see it in it's entirety and complete. As for the movies, die hard fans are going to be divided but I find the new Movies to be astoundingly good and I was actually pleasantly surprised how far they veer away from the original series as the story progresses, dealing with stuff the series built towards but never delivered. As much as I love the original series it is kind of obvious the point where they kind of stopped having a clear direction for the story and the ending was one of the most disappointing I can recall...ever, although the End of Evangelion movie rectified this.

My advice: Wait till the final movie is released before watching rebuild so you don't have to deal with years long cliffhanger endings.

0h, very nice to see Rei NOT in anime style, it's so rare.
And actually - N0, if you're a die-hard fan of the original "Evangelion", the only good part of "Rebuild" is the 1st movie - the farther they go, the lesser it's "Evangelion" and the more it's "Eva for the dumb teens of new millennium". Yes, the animation is drop-dead sexy, but no big thing since it's damn 2000s we're talking about - it just can't be bad (big money, y'know).
Just check out the "new" (as in "not so original") girl they created - it's a straight (and not in THAT meaning) mix of all damn fetishes and cliches. And remember, they already has the new (as in "fresh") girl - in "Girlfriend of Steel".

It looks already amazing. Oh, and about the reboot? I'm honestly starting to hate it, the third movie looks like a bunch of nonsense imho.

Awesome. I too have to go and draw some of the Eva units. So cool. And yes the re-boots are good. The 2nd one has even more extra stuff than part one. And everything just looks so good and smooth. They're like an Evangelion for dummies lol. They cut out a lot of the ambient and character building scenes and cut right to the main battles.
