Forgot what I used this bastard for.... it might have just been a doodle in a sketchbook somewhere... anyway, I found the scanned image in some old 'backup folder', and one of those days where I was bored of playing Mass Effect for the 10th time, I decided to slap some quick colors on this... I wanted to get that AWESOME energetic effect that Yoshi Shinkawa gets.... and failed... hahah... I still kinda like the doodle though. :)

Gotta loosen up more if you want that Yoji Shinkawa energy! Part chaos, part deliberate mark making. It's about making a mess and then guiding it and reigning it in. Felllow deviant :iconnefar007: is pretty good at it. You should check out his free inking videos on Youtube: [link] Intense stuff.

The fact this piece lacks the usual bright saturated colours you use, makes for an interesting change. :)
