Logan by Chuckdee Logan by Chuckdee
My favorite rendition of Wolverine has always been Barry Windor Smith's Weapon X mini-series.... not only was that series INCREDIBLY drawn, but the contrast between the 'quiet' moments and Logans' berserker attacks was just beautifully drawn and paced.... anyway, I had originally done this on grey paper, but wanted to do some simple coloring and add a bit of blood to give the piece a bit of movement.

Yeah, yeah! Love the way you captured WeaponX's look and energy! I faved this one awhile ago,but seeing it again the impact is just as strong as when I first saw it. The visuals punched me right in my face and gave me two black eyes. What a nice way to be knocked out!

The BWS weapon x was the closest to TRUE manga that American comic art will ever get. It was perfect. You only get that quality of work when one creator does the whole project.

It took its pacing cues and "quiet spots" from books like Lone Wolf and Cub- the same work that influenced Frank Millers Ronin.

That is Wolverine distilled to his most basic and purest character. Brilliant!
