This was the 'final pass' I did. ALL the characters were tough this time around, I don't think there was a single one where I didn't do at LEAST eight different versions. This one's pretty close to the finished version in-game, although the final model is wearing full leather pants... I wish they would have kept her garter belt and short shorts, I was happy with those!
...hehehe, some of you have pointed out that the colors got flipped... hehehe whooooops! just realized that! ...also, I noticed that the final model in the trailers etc, is a mash-up of parts of the first game's design (without the nurse stuff), and this one.
Also, I realize that all of us as fans (and yeah, I include myself ) would like for characters to never change and always look exactly the same, BUT you also have to realize that the ONLY reason why both comic and cartoon characters look the way they do is because they have to be drawn over and over and over, so the lines HAVE to be simple and streamlined, otherwise it'd be impossible to keep them consistent in both a comic and animation.
I agree that Harely's look is a CLASSIC, and Bruce Timm is a GENIUS, but those kinds of simple spandex outfits don't 'read' well in modern, 3D, 'unreal' engine-video games or even movies... if Harley's design was just the one-piece spandex from the cartoon (which works AMAZING in the cartoon), in a game with lighting, reflected lighting, textures etc, she'd just look like a girl that walked off a costume shop playing off against other characters that are much more realistic looking (in terms of costume materials), it's a hard balancing act!
