... it's been a few years, so I can't remember if this was the third or fourth cover for the DEATHBLOW series I did with Mr. 100 Bullets himself, Brian Azzarello. I am COMPLETELY unashamed to say I am a BIG fan of many Image comics (it's uncool to admit that nowadays!), AND I remember the first time I saw Deathblow by Jim Lee in 'Darker Image' I became an INSTANT fan!

... anyway, many many years later, I got offered to work on a Deathblow series with Brian and I JUMPED at the chance! ...heheh, Brian threw me a curve ball though, BUT a really damn fun one I gotta say.... He had me drawing super-powered Hobos, Russian-Spy dogs, and 'laser rats'... I don't know if that is necessarily what fans were expecting from a Deathblow series, BUT it was a damn fun ride, both to draw, AND read.

The idea with this cover was to 'mirror' the whole Abu Ghraib scandal that was going on at the time... it was at the height of the Bush-Era 'war on terror', so the series had a lot to do with that specific theme.
