... this was another idea for 'sentry' droids Batman would have in the DCO MMO... in keeping with some other Bat-vehicle designs I did, I wanted to keep the old-school Batmobile's 'face' on this robot, mixing in the new 'tech sensibilities', with classic shapes from Bat's lore.
I imagined this droid to be about a human's size, but always crouching and moves more like a primate/feline... it would never be 'walking', but always stalking prey, hanging from the cave walls and stalactites (hence the big ol' fingers on hands and feet... I guess they could also go out on recon, and get on a roof and behave like gargoyles to blend in?
i always thought batman needed a sentry to be up to date.. with the rest of the other super heros abilities.. esp ironman makes him look like crap.. i was thinking he could fly with a sentry.. like he would command it to fly over him and he use his grappler to to attach to it.. or the sentry could be program to grab it in mid air and wisk batman away.. either way.. a batman that doesn't fly is stupid
Very cool design, I particularly like the old school bat-mobile "face". Have you ever though about designing the bat's heavy armor ? Because some of those shapes and this "face" would be bitchin' on one of those. Just puttin' it up there.
that's pretty cool.. love the claws.. only "problem" i have with this design is that he doesnt look to me like the "crawler" type.. cave crawlers are slinky, stable and should be able to move quickly on any surface. plus, they should be hard to detect. this guy is tall, 4 legged and made out of metal, which is good, but when he's on the run he's gonna make alot of noise (think about his running cycle) that will reveal his hideout..
if i was to design this, i'd think of a design based on a spider or a fly.. maybe a gecko-thingie.. if you prefer the 4-leg type
also some sort of detectors on him would be cool too..
overall i like it alot.. wish i could draw mechanic parts that good..
umhhhhh...ahem ahem....uhhh... his whole body made out of titanium to reduce weight and uuuuhhhhhhh...the 'skin' is rubberized to decrease sound!!! umhhh... YEAH! that was uhhhhhhh...always the idea! ahem ahem cough!
heheheh... now you got me thinking about these things falling left and right, after trying really hard to be sneaky and hang from the cave's roof... whoops KLAAAANG!!!!

goodjob (+fav)
Speaking of which--I would love to see how you would do an Arkham Asylum/City version of Ace the Bat-Hound.
