... this was an idea I had for the place where Bane would first be seen in Arkham Asylum... since I knew the initial visual of seeing Bane so emaciated and weak would be a mix of tragic and shocking, I thought it'd be cool to have him dwarfed by a BIG scary machine that would drain and filter the venom from his veins... as far as I know, Bane had never been seen this helpless, so it was pretty damn fun to create this image. :)

Bane's look has always been a controversy in the comic books and games/movies/animation.

In the movies he's this hulking brute with little to no intelligence. In the comics he's got the intelligence and physical capabilities of Batman, with a psychotic streak, but otherwise he was able to bend Batman's spine.

I've always preferred the comic book version, since he acted more as a vigilante...but I guess his Hulking Brute form is what most people recognize him for (which annoys me, but oh well...maybe he'll be smarter in Arkham City).
